HTE (O) Diesel Price and Specs, Kia Carens Clavis

The HTE (O) Diesel is now the entry point to the diesel Carens Clavis, because Kia has dropped the plain HTE Diesel from its price list. It costs ₹14.37 lakh and pairs the 114 bhp, 250 Nm diesel with a 6 speed manual, rated at 19.54 kmpl.

You get the useful basics: an 8 inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a reverse camera, rear parking sensors, auto headlamps and steering mounted audio controls. All seven seats have three point belts. The middle row slides, reclines and tumbles forward at the touch of a button, so getting into the third row is easy. Six airbags and stability control are standard.

What you miss is mostly comfort. There is no sunroof and no cruise control, and the diesel rides on 16 inch steel wheels. The brochure also does not list automatic air conditioning at this level. If the sunroof and climate control matter, the HTE (EX) Diesel adds both for ₹51,000 more. If you just want the cheapest diesel seven seater with a screen and camera, this one does the job.
