If you enjoy a manual gearbox but still want a well kitted family car, the HTK+ (O) Turbo is the sweet spot. For ₹16.42 lakh you get the 158 bhp, 253 Nm turbo petrol with a 6 speed manual, rated at 15.95 kmpl, plus the first big jump in looks and comfort.

It is the cheapest Carens Clavis with LED headlamps, 17 inch crystal cut alloys and a dual pane panoramic sunroof. It also adds a wireless phone charger and a dual camera smart dashcam that works with a phone app. You keep the HTK+ basics, such as cruise control, push button start, front and rear parking sensors and the 8 inch touchscreen.

The screen stays small, and there is no 360 camera yet. Both come on the HTX+ Turbo manual, which also adds ventilated seats and BOSE sound but costs ₹2.62 lakh more. If your budget stops near ₹16.5 lakh, this trim gives you the strongest engine and most of the visible upgrades.
