Overview

The ZXi+ Bioflex is the dearest WagonR, at ₹7.24 Lakh ex-showroom. Launched on 4 June 2026, it is what Maruti calls India's first flex-fuel car. Its 1197 cc engine runs on any mix of petrol and ethanol from E20 to E100, through a 5 speed manual.

E20 means 20 percent ethanol blended into petrol, and E100 is pure ethanol. The engine control unit is calibrated to adapt to the blend in the tank, so you are not tied to one fuel. It was homologated, or certified for sale, on E85. The rating is 23.56 km/l, but the blend behind that figure is not stated.

Power and torque have not been published yet, so we do not list them. Official highlights include six airbags, ESP and the 17.78 cm SmartPlay Studio touchscreen, and the kit follows the ZXi+. It costs ₹82,500 more than the petrol ZXi+ manual, with no dual-tone option and six single colours.

ZXi+ Bioflex FAQs

Which fuels can the WagonR Bioflex use?+

Any blend of ethanol and petrol from E20 to E100. It was homologated on E85, and India's vehicle rules define flex fuel as E20 to E85.

How powerful is the WagonR Bioflex?+

Maruti has not published power or torque figures for the Bioflex. It uses a 1197 cc engine, but we will not guess its output until official numbers appear.

Is the Bioflex worth ₹82,500 over the ZXi+?+

Only if flex fuel matters to you. Maruti names its kit as ZXi+, its 23.56 km/l rating matches the ZXi+ manual, and you give up the dual-tone colour option. The extra money buys an engine engineered for ethanol blends.
