With no engine under the bonnet, the BYD Seal specifications focus on batteries, motors and drive layout. All three cars use a single speed automatic. The base car runs a rear motor with 201 bhp and 310 Nm. The long range car lifts output to 308 bhp and 360 Nm. The Performance model jumps to 523 bhp and 670 Nm.
Two battery sizes appear across the sheet. The Dynamic Range carries a 61.44 kWh pack for a claimed 510 km. The Premium Range uses an 82.56 kWh pack for a claimed 650 km. The Performance AWD shares that pack but claims 580 km, since two motors use more energy.
Drive layout changes with the trim. The two lower cars send power to the rear wheels only. The Performance AWD adds a second motor for all wheel drive. The Seal measures 4800 mm long with a 2920 mm wheelbase, so rear knee room is generous. It stands just 1460 mm tall, which helps the low, planted stance. Wide 1875 mm shoulders and a long roofline give the cabin an airy feel. Ground clearance is 145 mm, tuned for road rather than rough tracks. The boot holds 400 litres for five.
