As the range-topping non-turbo car, the Max is aimed at buyers who want the fullest naturally aspirated trim. The catch is the engine, since 82 PS and 18.0 kmpl lag the turbo trims on both power and economy. So you get the kit, but not the pace. It still drives the front wheels through a manual, with room for five.

The Max makes sense if you want a loaded naturally aspirated Basalt and are happy with gentle performance. At ₹11.34 lakh, though, several turbo variants come within reach. The Plus Turbo costs only a little more and gives you 110 PS with a higher 19.5 kmpl figure. So the turbo trims can look better value once you reach this price.
