The GX 8-Seater is the entry Hycross with a middle row bench in place of captain chairs, seating eight. It uses the 2.0 litre petrol with a CVT, making 172 bhp and driving the front wheels, giving larger families or operators the most seats at the lowest Hycross price.

It carries six airbags, a reverse camera, an 8 inch display and 16 inch alloys, without cruise control at this level. The petrol is smoother and cheaper to buy than the hybrid, though less economical, which suits buyers who value capacity and a low price over running cost.

Choose the GX petrol 8-Seater if you need eight seats affordably. For middle row comfort the captain-chair seven seater is nicer, and the VX hybrid brings far better economy and a much fuller feature set.
