Maruti Suzuki's net sales crossed ₹1 lakh crore in a financial half-year for the first time, reaching ₹1,00,574.6 crore between April and September 2026.

That was 31.0% more than the ₹76,756.4 crore it reported for the same six months of 2025. Net profit fell 18.3% to ₹5,767.0 crore from ₹7,060.9 crore.

The carmaker sold 13,79,378 vehicles in the half, 27.9% more than a year earlier and its highest for any half-year. The figures were part of the second-quarter results Maruti released on 27 October.

Sales in India here include light commercial vehicles and supplies to other manufacturers. Maruti called the 11,46,523 units its best half-yearly domestic total.

The previous half-year high for net sales was set in the six months to March 2026, at ₹97,613.1 crore by DynoBHP's calculation from Maruti's full-year and half-year figures.

How the Half Built Up

Maruti's sales passed 10 lakh vehicles by the end of August, five months into the financial year, its August release said. July alone brought record domestic sales of 2,00,123 units.

Both quarters set new volume records. Maruti sold 6,82,724 vehicles in April to June and 6,96,654 in July to September.

Profit followed a different path. Net profit fell 10.8% in the first quarter, which Maruti blamed on rising material costs. The second quarter's fall was steeper, at 26.9%, as costlier commodities and investment losses hit earnings.

Exports Slowed After a Record

Exports were the weaker part of the half. They reached an all-time quarterly high of 1,37,215 units in January to March 2026, and have fallen in each quarter since.

Shipments rose 28.6% to 1,24,736 units in April to June. In July to September they slipped 2.1% to 1,08,119, which Maruti said it achieved "despite the challenging geopolitical situation".

Even so, the half's 2,32,855 exports came to 52% of the record 4,47,774 Maruti shipped in all of the last financial year.

Japan is Maruti's second largest export market by volume. It held that place in the last financial year and again from April to August this year.

Cumulative shipments of the Jimny five-door, Fronx and e Vitara to Japan had crossed 1 lakh units by mid-September. Maruti says it now sells in nearly 120 countries.

Supplies to Other Carmakers Fell

Maruti also sells vehicles to other manufacturers, which it reports as a separate line in its sales tables. Those supplies fell 21.4% to 46,263 units in the half.

The fall steepened in the second quarter, to 23.2%. Maruti does not name the buyers in its monthly releases.

Growth at home came from Maruti's own range. Its domestic passenger vehicle sales rose 35.8% to 10,80,240 units, and utility vehicles rose 43.6% to 4,55,692.
