Record sales of 2,19,072 units lifted revenue, but commodity costs cut the EBITDA margin to 9.5%. The full numbers, monthly sales and what Hyundai expects next.

Hyundai Motor India's revenue crossed ₹20,000 crore in a single quarter for the first time between July and September 2026, but its net profit fell 23.9% from a year earlier.
Consolidated revenue for the second quarter of FY27 was ₹20,696 crore, up 18.5% from ₹17,461 crore a year ago, the company said on 28 October. Net profit fell to ₹1,196 crore from ₹1,572 crore.
Hyundai sold a record 2,19,072 vehicles in the quarter, including exports, 15% more than a year earlier. It said higher commodity costs weighed on profit.

EBITDA, or earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, excludes other income in Hyundai's figures. Its margin fell to 9.5% from 13.9% a year earlier.
Against the April to June quarter, revenue grew 26.7% and net profit 34.6%. Hyundai said operating leverage, a healthier sales mix and cost cuts lifted the margin from 9.3% in that quarter.
July to September, Month by Month
Hyundai's three monthly sales releases add up to the quarterly total.
| Month | Domestic | Exports | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| July | 54,210 | 21,150 | 75,360 |
| August | 54,396 | 11,400 | 65,796 |
| September | 57,166 | 20,750 | 77,916 |
| Quarter | 1,65,772 | 53,300 | 2,19,072 |
Domestic sales grew 19% on both the year-ago quarter and April to June. Exports, which count fully built cars and kits for assembly abroad, rose 4% year on year and 38% on the previous quarter.
Exports dropped to 11,400 units in August from 21,150 in July, which Hyundai blamed on logistical constraints linked to the conflict in West Asia. September's 77,916 units was its highest monthly total since it began operations.
In July, the Creta posted its best month of 2026 with 18,088 units, and the i20 its best with 6,738. Rural markets made up a record 26.6% of domestic sales in the quarter, and CNG models a record 19.1%.
First Half and Targets
For April to September, revenue rose 9.3% to ₹37,031 crore while net profit fell 29.1% to ₹2,085 crore. The EBITDA margin for the half was 9.4%, against 13.6% a year earlier.
In its July results release, Hyundai said it remained committed to 8% to 10% volume growth in both domestic and export markets, and an EBITDA margin of 11% to 14% for FY27. The October release does not repeat those targets.
The Bayon, Then an EV
Tarun Garg, Hyundai Motor India's managing director, said the company sees the second half of the financial year as "a period of accelerated momentum". He called the Bayon the start of the company's "golden product cycle".
Hyundai announced Bayon prices on 26 October, after the quarter had closed, starting at ₹9,99,900. The results release said the SUV had drawn an "encouraging response" but gave no booking figures.
Garg also said Hyundai is ready to launch a dedicated mass-market EV in the January to March 2027 quarter. He added that macroeconomic uncertainty and cost pressures persist.
