Use DynoBHP to check car on road price
The price on a brochure is the ex-showroom price. It is not what you actually pay to drive the car home. The real number, the on-road price, adds road tax, registration and insurance on top.
This guide shows you how to get that real number for your own city in a few taps, and how to read the breakdown so you know where every rupee goes.

Road tax is set by each state, so the same car costs a different amount to put on the road in Bangalore, Delhi or Mumbai. DynoBHP works this out for you, city by city, for every variant of a car.
Step by step
- 1
Open a car's Price section
Open any car's page and select the Price tab. If you are not on a car yet, pick one from the new cars list first. The Price section opens with a snapshot of the starting price, the on-road price and a sample EMI.

On any car's page, select the Price tab. - 2
Pick your city
Scroll down to On-road price by city and tap your city from the row of popular ones, like Bangalore, Delhi or Mumbai. Each one takes you to the full price worked out for that city.

Tap your city, or use Change city to search for another one. - 3
Search if your city is not shown
If you do not see your city, select Change city and start typing its name. Pick it from the list that appears and the price updates for that city.

Type your city name and choose it from the list. - 4
Read the price breakdown
The breakdown shows exactly how the on-road price is built. You get the ex-showroom price, the road tax for that state, the insurance, registration and fees, and the final on-road total at the bottom.

Every part of the on-road price is laid out, down to the final total. - 5
Check each variant's price
Lower down, the variant list shows the on-road price of every trim, cheapest first. Use the fuel buttons to show only petrol, diesel or the fuel you want, so you can find the variant that fits your budget.

The fuel buttons narrow the list to the variants you care about.
What the on-road price includes
Ex-showroom. The base price of the car before anything is added. This is the figure brochures and ads usually quote.
Road tax. A one time tax set by your state. It is the main reason the same car costs more in one city than another.
Insurance, registration and fees. Your first year insurance, the number plate and the paperwork to register the car in your name.
On-road price. The three above added together. This is the real amount you hand over to drive the car home.
Which cities are covered
You can get the on-road price for major cities including Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Ahmedabad. If your town is not on the list, pick the nearest big city in your state as a close guide, since the road tax is usually the same across the state.
Once you know the real price, you can set a budget and compare two cars on it, or turn the on-road price into a monthly EMI to see what it costs each month.
Common questions
- Why is the on-road price higher than the showroom price?
- The on-road price adds road tax, registration and first year insurance on top of the ex-showroom price, so it is always higher.
- Why does the price change from city to city?
- Road tax is set by each state, not by the carmaker, so the same variant costs a different amount to register in different states.
- Is the on-road price exact?
- Treat it as a close estimate to plan with. Confirm the final figure with the dealer or your local RTO before you pay.
- Can I see the price for one particular variant?
- Yes. The variant list on the city page shows the on-road price of every trim, and you can filter it by fuel type.
