The Bayon HX 2, the ₹9,99,900 entry point to Hyundai's new SUV, comes with six airbags and electronic stability control but no touchscreen, no speakers and no rear camera.

Hyundai's brochure lists no Bluetooth or steering wheel audio controls on the base trim either. The price is ex-showroom Delhi, and the HX 2 comes only with the six-speed manual.

Two ₹90,000 Steps

The HX 3, at ₹10,89,900, fills most of the gaps. It adds a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, speakers with front tweeters, Bluetooth, a rear camera and a smart key.

Another ₹90,000 buys the HX 3+ with its electric sunroof, which also brings roof rails and 17-inch styled steel wheels.

The Venue's Base Trim Has a Screen

Hyundai takes a different line on the smaller Venue. Its base HX 2 costs ₹7,99,900, which is ₹2 lakh less than the Bayon's entry trim.

Yet the Venue's base HX 2 comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, speakers and Bluetooth, according to Hyundai's brochure. Like the cheapest Bayon, it has no rear camera. It also lacks the tyre pressure monitoring that every Bayon gets.

The Bayon follows the larger Creta instead. The Creta's entry E trim, priced at ₹10,90,700, also goes without a touchscreen, speakers or Bluetooth in Hyundai's brochure.

A Boot Figure Tied to the HX 2

Hyundai rates the Bayon's boot at 505 litres by the VDA 215 method, measured with the tyre repair kit. The HX 2 is the only trim that carries the kit, and Hyundai has not given a figure for versions with a spare wheel.

All seven trims share one engine, the 1.5-litre petrol making 115 PS and 143.8 Nm.
