XEV 9S price in Mumbai: common questions

Do I pay road tax on the XEV 9S in Mumbai?

No. Maharashtra exempts electric cars from road tax until March 2030, and that covers every XEV 9S, including the ₹30.15 lakh 6-Seater. You still pay insurance, registration and 1% TCS.

Is the 6-Seater better for a Mumbai family with elderly parents?

Often, yes. Two captain chairs are easier to settle into than a bench, and the middle row has its own AC vents. In Mumbai the 6-Seater costs only about ₹20,000 more on the road, since neither layout pays road tax.

Can I charge the XEV 9S in a Mumbai housing society without my own parking slot?

It is harder. A wallbox needs a fixed slot and the society's written permission, so speak to the managing committee first. Without one you rely on public DC chargers, where 20 to 80 percent takes about 20 minutes.

Is 205 mm of ground clearance enough for Mumbai's monsoon roads?

It is a healthy figure, and the battery itself sits 222 mm off the ground. That helps over speed breakers and broken patches. Still avoid deep waterlogged stretches and follow the owner's manual on driving through water.

Can I do Mumbai to Pune and back on one charge?

Yes, on any battery. The round trip is about 300 km against rated ranges of 521 to 679 km. The ghat climb uses extra charge, but regenerative braking wins some of it back on the way down.
