Honda's Domestic Sales Rise 19% in October as Exports Fall to 473
Honda credited the new Elevate for its gains in India. Its release gave no reason for the export drop, which turned growth at home into a fall overall.

Honda Cars India sold 7,609 cars in India in October 2026, 19% more than a year earlier, but a collapse in exports cut its total sales by 23% to 8,082.
Honda exported 473 cars in the month, down from 4,124 in October 2025. Its release, dated 1 November, gave no reason for the drop.
October Against Last Year
| Honda | October 2026 | October 2025 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sold in India | 7,609 | 6,394 | Up 19.0% |
| Exported | 473 | 4,124 | Down 88.5% |
| Total | 8,082 | 10,518 | Down 23.2% |
The October 2025 total of 10,518 is DynoBHP's sum of the domestic and export figures Honda gave for that month. The change figures are also DynoBHP's calculation.
A year ago, exports made up almost 40% of Honda's sales. This October they made up under 6%.
The New Elevate
Kunal Behl, Honda's vice president for marketing and sales, credited festive demand and the new Elevate. He said the updated SUV had drawn an overwhelming response since its recent launch and was a key contributor to October's sales.
Honda unveiled the new Elevate on 6 October, after opening pre-launch bookings on 1 October. The update narrows the feature gap with the Hyundai Creta but stays petrol only.
Model-wise sales were not part of Honda's release.
Honda's Range in India
Honda builds the Amaze, City and Elevate SUV at its plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan. It also sells the ZR-V, which it imports fully built from Japan.
For context, Honda's total sales were 8,284 in July and 7,508 in August, according to its releases for those months. October's total sits between the two.
