Mahindra's SUV Sales Hit a Record 73,338 in October but Grow Only 2%
Mahindra's October 2025 SUV sales were far above its July to September months that year. The monthly trend, light trucks, three-wheelers and exports.
Mahindra & Mahindra sold 73,338 SUVs in India in October 2026, its highest for any month, but only 2.4% more than the 71,624 it sold in October 2025.
Counting commercial vehicles, three-wheelers and exports, the company's auto business sold 1,31,109 vehicles, also a monthly record and 9% more than a year earlier. The figures come from Mahindra's sales release dated 1 November.
A High Base From Last October
Mahindra's SUV growth has slowed sharply since August. Last year's numbers show why: October 2025 was far stronger than the months before it.

Mahindra sold 71,624 SUVs in October 2025, about 15,400 more than its best month in the July to September quarter that year. The GST cut on cars had taken effect on 22 September 2025, and Diwali fell on 20 October.
In 2026, Diwali comes in November, on the 8th. Mahindra's president for the automotive business, Velusamy R, said the festive season and a refreshed range kept demand strong.

Exports grew fastest. Mahindra has shipped 37,133 vehicles abroad since April, 53% more than in the same months of 2025.
Mahindra sells no cars or vans in India, so every passenger vehicle it sold was an SUV. Its SUV figures include sales by its electric vehicle subsidiary, Mahindra Electric Automobile.
The Year So Far and the ZNG
From April to October, Mahindra sold 4,31,480 SUVs in India, up 17% on a year earlier.
Velusamy R also said the XUV 3XO ZNG, Mahindra's first CNG vehicle, has drawn strong interest. Mahindra opened bookings for the ZNG in October. Mahindra does not report sales by model, so the ZNG's own numbers are not known.
