Hyundai Sells a Record 82,299 Vehicles in October as the Venue Has Its Best Month
Hyundai beat September's record by 4,383 units, despite a strong festive October last year. The monthly trend since July, and where the new Bayon fits.

Hyundai Motor India's sales reached 82,299 vehicles in October 2026, a monthly high for the carmaker since it began operations in India, Hyundai said in a release dated 1 November.
The total was 17.7% above October 2025's 69,894. Hyundai's domestic sales also set a record, at 62,799 units, and exports rose 21.1% to 19,500.
The Venue compact SUV had its best month in India, with 13,017 units. That is about one in five of the Hyundais sold in the country in October.
October Against Last Year
| Hyundai | October 2026 | October 2025 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Domestic sales | 62,799 | 53,792 | Up 16.7% |
| Exports | 19,500 | 16,102 | Up 21.1% |
| Total | 82,299 | 69,894 | Up 17.7% |
Last October was already a strong month for Hyundai. It credited Dussehra, Dhanteras and Diwali, all of which fell in October 2025, along with the cut in GST rates in September that year.
Diwali this year is on 8 November, outside October. Hyundai still grew on that higher base.
July to October
| Month | Total | In India | Abroad |
|---|---|---|---|
| July | 75,360 | 54,210 | 21,150 |
| August | 65,796 | 54,396 | 11,400 |
| September | 77,916 | 57,166 | 20,750 |
| October | 82,299 | 62,799 | 19,500 |
September's 77,916 had been Hyundai's previous monthly high. October beat it by 4,383 units, with sales in India up by 5,633 while exports eased slightly.
Exports had dropped sharply in August, when Hyundai blamed logistics problems linked to the West Asia conflict. They were back near 20,000 in both September and October.
The Venue and the Bayon
The current Venue went on sale after October 2025. When Hyundai reported its sales for that month, the new model was still open only for bookings.
Hyundai did not give figures for any other model this October. A year ago, it said the Creta and Venue together sold 30,119 units.
Managing director Tarun Garg said strong festive demand drove the record. He added that the newly launched Bayon would support growth in India and in more than 50 export markets.
Bayon prices were only announced on 26 October, so the model had a few days of October sales at most.
